New to Creative Process: what to expect ?
Creative process is hard to define because it mainly falls at the "non-essential" side of work, the google answer is somewhat like the creative activity is an act of work that provides solution to a problem in a new, efficient and appealing method, the word creative has many curves for ex an accountant might find a creative method to solve a tax problem, the method could be new and efficient but would you call the accounts field creative ? I don't think so.
So in general when we talk about creative process we mostly mean something related to making "Art".
Creative career could be of two types, one is the job side with a stable income like in advertising and marketing etc, new ideas are must and essential to keep up with the market but at the same time you have the surety of a cheque every week, the other one is the "entrepreneur" type of creative career where you are mostly your own boss working freelance or with the like-minded people, we are talking about the artist, writers, comedians, video producers etc.
The type we'll be focusing on is the latter one, what to expect from this type of creative career financially and otherwise ? One can not lay out all the charts and graphs before stepping in or even in the initial stages of the startup, at start you don't even know your audience, you don't know that what you're providing is helping the targeted audience ? or are you adding any value to their time ? or do people even relate to your stuff ?, these types of questions matters a lot in the process as this is directly related to the growth of your business.
So the question that is what to expect from a creative business is hard to answer, you must have the goals set and you can certainly make a theoretical expectation from the research that can help but the only way to actually find out the answers is to step in completely and by working persistently towards your passion, learning from the seniors and peers and growing steadily.
Finding your passion and giving it all is the only way to get to success in a creative field.
